Our Vision
Our Anglican community life builds social cooperation and sharing for mutual wellbeing: with Anglicans contributing to the community “from each according to her/his ability” (as described in Acts 11:29 in the New Testament) “to each according to his/her need" as described in Acts 4:35). Ultimately, we are inspired by the supreme example of Divine Love as incarnate in the Life, Ministry, Crucifixion and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Our Mission
Our life as Anglican Christians, from childhood to youth, to adulthood, is shaped by our Anglican Church to go forth into the world and express this Divine Love through prayer and sustained action among our fellow Sri Lankans. Such is our Vision of ushering in the Reign of God.
Our Core Values
Faith
Rooted in Scripture and the Anglican tradition, we are committed to a living, active faith in Jesus Christ.
Worship
We gather regularly in the beauty of our liturgical tradition to praise God, receive His Word, and strengthen one another.
Service
We are called to serve our neighbours — especially the marginalised and vulnerable — with love and dignity.
Unity
We celebrate the rich diversity of our community and seek to be a witness to reconciliation and peace.
Integrity
We uphold the highest standards of transparency, accountability, and ethical leadership in all we do.
Dialogue
We engage openly with people of all faiths and ideologies, seeking to discern God's presence in the world around us.
Through schools, institutions, welfare programmes, and community organisations historically associated with the Anglican Church in Sri Lanka, the Diocese has made a lasting contribution to the educational, social, and cultural life of the nation. That tradition of engaged, compassionate service continues to this day.
